SuperNova.org REOPENS!!!!

The old SuprNova.org returns as NewNova.org

It has been a while since we posted a news on the site and that is due to my computer still not working. Right now I took my time to get to a computer and write up this news, since I thought it was quite important.

You all remember the old SuprNova.org, right? And most of you were very disappointed when you heard that SuprNova.org was never going to return in its old form. Well, this fact will not change. But I am happy to announce that another site is going to open using the old SuprNova.org code, with some bugs fixed to make it faster.

I will try to explain how all of this happened, in a short story. A very good friend of mine who is very good with PHP and scripting has always wanted to run a website like SuprNova.org and he tried making few torrent websites (which I will not name), but he never really managed to get the user base, simply because he lacked the designer skills. Then he asked me if he could use the design of SuprNova.org and we made a deal. Since I know that he will really try his best to keep the site up running and will work towards making his site better, we agreed that he will pay for the hosting of my web servers (current SuprNova.org) for 3 months.

So about two months ago, he got the source code of the old SuprNova.org and has modified the code so that it runs faster and does not take so much computer resources, his site is up and running. The new site is called, NewNova.org and it looks exactly like the old SuprNova.org only with a new ownership.

I would like to point out that I will have nothing to do with the new website, I might come visit their forums once their are up and running but that is about it. I know that this person is going to do all that he can to keep the site running and to make a nice community.

This person asked me to not name him, since he wants to be anonymous (as much as that is possible on the Internet), but I can say that he is quite known in the P2PP2P world.

community and that he has always done nothing but positive things for the whole

TorrentBits Ratio Injection Vulnerability

Source:

All TorrentBits based trackers are vulnerable to a 'bug', which makes it possible for anyone to boost up their share ratio infinitely.

In order to perform this trick you will need 3 applications:

- HTTP Analyzer
- Mozilla Firefox
- User Agent Switcher Extension
- Any BT-client

Next step is to install all these programs. The mozilla user agent switcher only will need some setup:
Go to: Tools -> User Agent Switcher -> Options -> Options -> User Agents and click on add and write "BitTorrent/3.4.2"

After this is done you can go to your favorite private tracker and download any torrent you want. After you've downloaded the torrent
open it up but dont start the torrent yet.

Next thing to do is open the HTTP Analyzer and click on the arrow next to the green play button, from there choose 'select a process' from there on choose the aplication your using to download torrents and start the capturing of http headers.

After this you can start up the torrent file, the BT client will now communicate with the tracker and submit some basic information. The HTTP Analyzer program will capture all the data we need to boost up our ratio.

Once the torrent has started and the first headers are captured pauze the torrent and go back to the HTTP Analyzer, from the top field select and copy the url, next thing to do is starting up FireFox

After this is done simply paste the url we just copied, but dont press enter yet, first find the part of the url that tells the tracker our upload ammount (in bytes and usualy 0 on first contact), it should look something like this:

http://some.tracker/announce.php?info_hash...rted&key=Lxk3cc

The part we are interested in is the part it says "uploaded=0", if you want to add 20 GB to your upload ratio then replace the 0 with 21474836480
after that hit enter 1 time and 1 time only.

Now go to your private tracker and check your ratio, your upload should have 20 GB's added.

You are probably wondering, why we have posted this information on the site? Because instead of just few people knowing it and abusing it, everybody can do it now meaning the coders and scripters will have to find a way to fix the problem now.

This bug was found by http://xyflar.blogspot.com/ and written for SuprNova.org by bogaa from meganova.org
and changing the user agent with the plugin we've just configured.
